Selective Laser Sintering (SLS)

The SLS method is another technology to produce parts and components through layers. In this case we manufacture the part or component by means of a laser which hot-dip coats thermoplastics in powder form.

This method is especially suitable to produce fully-functional prototypes of a high mechanical loading capacity but without any special surface requirements.

The material properties of those components meet the requirements of the following serial parts by nearly 90 %.

Being of an available construction size of 320 x 270 x 430 mm our machine is able to construct with a layer thickness of 0.1 – 0.15 mm. We can offer you four different materials that can be processed by the machine – from elastomers to fibre-glass reinforced polyamide. Our new material “DuraForm EX”, which was developed by the company “3D Systems”, allows us to manufacture film hinges using the SLS method! We also use biocompatible materials according to USP Class VI ! If you are interested we would be glad to send you corresponding samples.
